Hi Christina, From the Satjendorf 1803 census there is a Detlef Christian Scheel age 33, tenant of a cottage Christina Scheelen age 44, Stelle, 2nd marriage Lucia Schroeder age 21, daughter 1st marriage Friederich Peter Scheel age 3, child 2nd marriage Anna Margaretha Scheel age 1, child 2nd marriage Hinrich Scheel age 46 Catharina Nips age 39, his wife Hans Scheel age 12, their child Friederich Scheel age 7, their child Elisabeth Scheel age 10, their child my friendly greetings Wayne I have just found out that my Scheel family is from the town of Satjendorf in Holstein. The Scheel family I am referring to settled in Plattesville, Grant County, Wisconsin in the mid to late 1860's. Specifically: Siblings Claus Heinrich SCHEEL b Nov 1843 Carl (Charles) SCHEEL, b. Feb 1845 Catherine SCHEEL, b. Abt 1849 came to the US on April 5, 1864 on the ship Teutonia out of Marseilles. (Have passenger list from NARA). The rest of the family arrived in New York later, on December 6, 1866, out of the port of Marseilles, ship unknown. Father Claus SCHEEL b. 1814 Mother Margaret (Unknown)SCHEEL, b. Abt 1816 Doris SCHEEL b. Abt 1851 Friedrich SCHEEL b. Nov 1858 Hans SCHEEL b.Nov 1848 Marie SCHEEL b. Abt 1847 . I have the info on this from "Germans to America", but NARA stated that they could not find the manifest. I am certain that Claus and Margaret are the parents of Claus, Carl, Hans, and Friedrich. I am awaiting documentation on the others mentioned above. Does anyone have any info on the Scheels from Satjendorf?
