Hello Friends- Here's my family-I'm hoping I can connect with a German cousin! Johann BEHRS born in Heidgraben married Magdalena Margaretha RIEDELS who was born on May 3, 1858 in Uetersen. They married about 1875. Johann died Nov. 1890 in Uetersen. Magdalena remarried Fritz Wohlers. Magdalena died approx 1942 in Germany. Johann & Magdalena's children: Johanna born 1876- died in Germany as a young woman Catherina born Aug. 8, 1878 - married in 1897 to George Koehnke- they came to Petaluma, Ca with their 2 children in 1901 where 2 more children were born. George died July 22, 1922. 2nd husband John Koenig. Catherina died on Oct. 30, 1964, Petaluma, Ca Helene born March 29, 1880- Married SCHAAR - died Dec. 25, 1937 Germany Anna born Feb. 2, 1882 - married SCHMUCK - Died Dec. 24, 1966 Germany Margarete born Jan. 19, 1884 - married Obermeier PETERSEN, Germany- died April 7, 1981 Germany Karsten born 1886-died as a child in Germany Henry (My Grandfather) born Oct. 18, 1887 - came to Petaluma, Ca 1903 - married Johanna ROHDE (My Grandmother) in Stockton, Ca on May 12, 1918. Johanna was the daughter of Johann ROHDE and Magdalena HANSON (or HANSEN) of Uetersen, Germany. Johanna came to the USA - to Stockton, Ca in 1913. Henry died in Petaluma, Ca on Aug. 18, 1965. Johanna died in Petaluma on Dec. 11, 1955. Johanna's sister and her family were in Hamburg in the 1940's & early 50's- I have copies of postcards they sent. Johanna's oldest sister Augusta was in Stockton, Ca ahead of Johanna and married Alfred GAIL in 1906. Johann- born 1889 at age 14 in Germany. Wilhemina born Hedgraben, Germany Jan 17, 1891 came to the USA to be with her older brother and sister- married Ernst STEINWEG of Stettin, Germany in 1909 in Petaluma, Ca. Died in Petaluma, Ca onJuly 25, 1978 I'd love to hear from anyone who can connect to any of these names.
