Hello List, One of my brick wall is my great great grandfather and grandmother. There names are Ernst Denser and Grete Thede. The came to America in March, 1881, They arrived in New York. Ernst Denser was born approx. 1844. We are told that his father owned a "department store," and her father was a school teacher. Ernst and Grete went straight to Nebraska and soon had a child. We are not sure if they had family there. The child was named Carl Peter August Denser. The family did show up in the 1885 census with a different spelling of the last name, Dienser. The census taker wrote his translation of the last name. (my thought). Any information would be great. Thank You, Cindie Hobbs
