Hi, I'm particularly looking for the ancestors of Paul Asmussen (aka Paulus Erasmi) - my wife's direct paternal 8G grandfather. Paul was born about 1550 in Adsbøl and was a sognepræst there, 1551-1604. he married, about 1573, Elisabeth Petersen (~1554-1630) from Sønderborg, daughter of Nicolai Petersen, borger in Sønderborg. It is very probable that Paul's parents lived in Flensborg. It is speculated that his parents might be Asmus Festersen (or Feddersen) a slagter in Flensborg, and Marie (or Mariane) Hansdatter, daughter of Hans Jepsen, bartskær in Flensborg, and Margrethe ??? Gross speculation about Asmus' father suggests he might be a man called Fester Asmussen, aka Fester Foherman or Fohrman. Any insight into Paul's ancestors would be most welcome. Another 8G grandfather of interest is Friedrich Friedrichsen Klinge, born about 1585, Bysekretær i Flensborg, died 1637 in Jever, Østfriesland. There is some uncertainty who was the mother of his son, Anthon Klinge (born 1615 in Flensborg). It is possible Friedrich had two wives - Wibeke Hardenberg and Catharine Holst (from Koldenbüttel). Any information about Friedrich's wife/wives and/or parents would be very interesting. One more - this time a 9G grandfather, Peter Clausen, born about 1525, bogholder in Flensborg. Peter's son, Claus Pedersen (1555-1618) was "Land- og Tingskriver i Sønderborg". Any information about Peter's wife and/or parents would be very useful.
