Looking for WEISS family from Flensburg. Johannes WEISS married Mette Marie Thomasdatter, Danish (her father was Thomas OLESON). Moved to Hamburg, possibly Altoona area. Immigrated with family to Portland Maine around 1983. Mette Marie died there. Johannes moved to California with son Robert and son John. Also had daughter Theodora who married R. S. York in Boston; and son Adolph; and possibly daughter Amelia.

My husband's gr gr grandfather, Ernst Amberg, married a Barbara Weiss (we think). But the only info we have found so far is that she was from Saxony or Saxe Oberg and that her father was possibly born in Wurtenberg. The Ambergs emigrated to Dubuque IA in 1854 so now I am going to try and see if I can find that family possibly in Flenburg. Does the name Amberg mean anything to you?
