I am searching for descendants of Thomas Knud THOMSEN Most of the information I have came from a biography on Thomas's son Knud, written by Knud's daughter Ingeborg (THOMSEN) MADSEN Thomas Knud THOMSEN born @ 1835 at Bek, Sch, Denmark parents Unknown died March 17, 1900 Schlesvig married unknown date to Marie JENSEN (JENSDATTER) Marie JENSEN (JENSDATTER) born May 8, 1838 died Nov. 1913 places unknown Thomas and Marie had 4 children that I know of: 1. Knud Thomsen (my great grandfather) born January 30, 1867 Molbeck or Bek, Sch, Denmark died March 17, 1900 Ringsted, Emmet County, Iowa immegrated to USA 1889 married Gena Nielsen October 28, 1889 New York I have much information to share on their decendents 2. Niels born @ 1868 or 69 nothing more known 3. Jens born Oct 1870 Sch died 1912 and is burried at Dolliver, Emmet County, Iowa immegrated @ 1897 to USA married Bertha M. CHRISTENSEN had a son Eugene and lived in Kansas City area for a time. 4. Kristine Born @1873 died unknown married Peter LUND unknown date or place . it has been said " that Grandfather was pressed into service by the prussian army for a time and when he came home on leave he was helped by grandmothers family ( Johannes Nicholus Nielsen) to get to America along with Grandmother, Gina." I have no clue as to how to prove any of this...I am acquainted with the dda site and have found Ginas mother in the 1845 census near Haderslev. Her name is Ingeborge Nielsen Balmer . unfortuneately almost all of my family have come from the slesvig area and I am at a loss as to how to find information in english. I recognize many Danish words from reading and transcribing Danish-American Kirk records. I have wondered if Molbech, Bek and Baek were the same place.
