Christian Dockweiler first came to the area of Kropp in the Dutchy of Schleswig in 1761. He was married probably 4 times and left 13 living children when he died in 1810. One of his descendants Johann Dockweiler married Anna Thams in 1830. Three sons and one daughter of this marriage and a daughter of a later marriage all immigrated to America; first to Clinton, Iowa and then later to Crawford County in Iowa and Saunders County in Nebraska. My GGGrandfather Hans and his wife Marie Tolk lived in Crawford County and raised a large family in the mid to late 1800's. If you live in the Midwest, or Oregon or Washington and trace back to a Dockweiler this is probably your family. If you live in California thats a different Dockweiler family If anyone has any interest in this family I would love to correspond with you.
