First I would like to thank everyone that has helped me with this project, I would like to name names but sure as the dickens I would forget someone. Several German researchers have sent information, maps and census records and history of the area and Schleswig/Holstein. Many family members have sent family charts of their family surname and descendancy charts. To date 155 have pre-registered and who knows how many are just going to show up without registration. If someone wants to send me an E-mail about your family that you are researching from either the Giekau area or Schleswig/Holstein that involves one of these family names I will put it on the board and on the family table for all to see. The names are: Bichel, Carstens, Dorhman, Dorman(n), Dose, Doose, Dohse, Ehlers, Giese, Hammer, Hansen, Jurgens (was Jurgensen), Kay, Kahl, Kruse, Lamp, Lau, Loof, Luth, Matthiensen, Möller(Miller), Müller,Nagel,Nipp, Rohrberg, Roenfeld, Roenfeldt, Scheel, Schoening, Schroeder, Schutt, Steffens, Strohbehn, Stumpf, Thiering, Vohs, Voss, Wiese,Wolf,Wulf. There may be more but this is what we have so far with a Giekau, Mineola connection. There will be two sections for display one with each of the above families with a table for pictures, artifacts and genealogy material, the other part will be tables for the Friends and Neighbors of Giekau families to display just genealogy information. This table could have information on it from Selent Church District, Lutjenburg Church District, and the Probstei area. If you want to have something on one of the tables it is not to late. Send it to me and I can print it off.
