Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any photos of Nordhastedt they could publish on the web. Also the names of churches that are there so I could write and get some info on my ancestors in the 1800's Any help would be very much appreciated. Gloria.

Hello Gloria, The church parish NORDHASTEDT has one photo of their church online at: http://www.kirche-dithmarschen.de/gemeinden/nordhastedt/ The district Dithmarschen is divided into two church-districts, as Northern-Dithmarschen, and Southern-Dithmarschen. See: http://www.kirche-dithmarschen.de/norddith.htm and http://www.kirche-dithmarschen.de/sueddith.htm The records of the northern part are available for research in HEIDE, the leader of the archives is Mr. Duncker. The records of the southern part are availabe for research at the Rentamt in MELDORF. Mail sent requests for research for southern Dithmarschen will reach me, as I am the archival custodian of the regional church records office of South Dithmarschen. The LDS has filmed most all records of Dithmarschen, but only prior to 1800. So if you can read the old script, you can order the films at your local LDS center. Regards, Hans Peter Voss
