Ideas? > Hi Rose, There was a family of Hartwig on the island of Bornholm, Denmark from the 16th to 19th (at least) centuries. I have a record of a Claus Michelsen Hartwig, born about 1575 in Rønne, son of Michel Augustin Hartwig and "Unknown" Clausdatter Kames, marrying a distant cousin of my wife about 1622. You could look on the site http://www.kofoed.org for more on this family. The owner is Bjarne Kofoed (manager@kofoed.org).
