Hello all, I have a slightly different question related to this thread, regarding immigrants from the Altona/Hamburg area, during the time period of Danish rule, did they consider themselves to be Danish or German, or did it depend on their age, ethnic background, etc. . ?? Another question, there seemed to be a fairly high percentage of those from Hannover moving over to the Altona/Hamburg area in the early 1800's. . .was this more of an ethnic group move or was there some other political or geographic impetus to cause this??
