First Michael Kohihaas the site on hamburg is wonderful and I left a message in the guest book I have also book marked the site.Maybe you are right about Granz Storde being Cranz and Stade I did check it again and still come up with the same spelling.My Grandmother was a Metta Nibbe born 1835 and I have found a lot of Nibbe's in Finkenwarder so I am not if there is some connection but I will keep looking, as my Frederick's family had a business in altona is there some way I can find any records that long ago? he was born in 1833, once again thank you for your help.
