Susan, I was winging it on the date but the ship I am interested in was the Marmion which departed Liverpool on the 18th of January, 1854 at noon. I am trying to confirm the name of one of the passengers whom I believe to be Odilio Kustel (another cousin thinks it was Ottokar Hofmann). There were also a group of 12-16 Walachian miners on board traveling with this mining engineer. Although they were bound for New York, they survived a terrible storm and put into Greenock, Scotland for overhaul on the 15th of February. Mike in WA > Don't know if it will help but there was a ship that departed Liverpool on > 14 January 1854 (could not find one for the 15th). It was the ship Liverpool > and on the passenger list there were 8 passengers listed with place of origin > Hungary. Last names were Bram, Holota, Kellish, Sprinumburgh (? spelling).
