    3. Oryl, When you search for Tyskland in Google, up come some pages in German -- and if you use the translate feature you see that the term Tyskland seems to be translated as Germany. I have never seen the term before, but if some of your family emigrated from Germany, that would be a reasonable conclusion. For example, here is a Web site with that word in the URL: http://www.tyskland-info.com/index_portal.html and when you visit it says Welcome to Germany. Best wishes, Barbara ----- Original Message ---- From: ORYL L FISCHER <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, August 11, 2008 5:23:02 PM Subject: Re: [SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN-ROOTS] (no subject) Recently found the Karl Fredrik Kristian Mahler family Tyskland.  Could someone tell me where this is located?  It is believed they immigrated to Sweden from Germany and Norway.  Any help is appreciated.

Tyskland is, I believe, the Danish language word for Germany, Tysk being entomologically related to the German word Deutsch, I would suspect. -- Mercy, community solidarity, and dedication to the common good.
