I have a Weise family who came over from Selent, Hans and Margareth Weise and had 2 children Emma and Carl. I think that Margareth died and Hans went back to Germany. I have the quit claim deed to land in MN that was sold to Emma and noterized by Hans and his wife Anna from Fargau. Emma lived in Davenport, Scott County, Iowa. I could never find her parents in Davenport in the Census. Her brother Carl was in western Iowa until he got TB, then returned to Davenport and died. I have a booklet called "The Muhs Families of the Midwest" by Merle E. Arp which gives insite into life in the Probstei area and some history of the area. I know Selent and Fargau were just outside the Probstei boundries but they probably lived similarily. In the book he states that the Muhs of Davenport, Sheridan Township and North Dakota all descended from a line of landless cottage workers in the village of Wisch. Would Ms or Mr. Freundenberg please email me at [email protected] Gaycha Mayhew in Davenport, IA
