I have found these definitions too. However, since these terms are used for the deaths of infants, I don't think gout is likely. I don't know what "attack of pestilence" might mean in these records. I looked up complications of measles in a Merck manual, and found encephalitis--perhaps this is what meant by Gehirnleiden. I hope there is someone out there with knowledge of medical knowledge in the 1800s and of German terms used for medical conditions in the old church records of that period. Thank you again.
