I responded on the message board but wanted others to know of the response. Claus Jacob is the second son of my husbands 3rd great grandmother Margretha Dorothea Haverbier b. 1800 by her first husband Johann Henrick Haack. Johann died of TB in 1826. Family records and ship passenger records have Claus born in 1923 (not what the census records indicate). He immigrated in 1869. I think he and his family was on the same ship as his mother and half sister and brother. I have seen his passenger record but do not seem to have a copy but my notes indicate he was. By 1880 he was in Homer, Benton, Iowa (census). Later he moved to Plymouth Co. Iowa. Email me at [email protected] I may have more information.
