Johanna Schoel came to America in 1881 (ship's passenger list) with son, Andrew John, his wife and two children. I haven't discovered exactly when the other 4 sons came. Years ago, I met and talked with the Martha Michaels you mention. She was full of information, especially of the Schoels that lived in Birmingham, and I took many notes. I recently joined Ancestry so I could prove some of this information. I know Martha's daughter-in-law and plan to call her to see if she or her husband have family info. I'm also in contact with the grandson of Herman and we're trading information. The youngest son, Fredrick John, had 3 children: Eleanor, Elizabeth, and Frank M. Eleanor married Howard Johnson - 3 children: Howard, Eleanor, and Russell. So we are sharing some of the same information. I am particularly glad to learn these other names - Bube, Krause, Fischer. I haven't yet figured out how to learn more about the Schoels before they came over here. I have been told that there is a living schoel who has been back to Germny to find family. I must touch base with him. Please keep in touch. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
