    3. They are very difficult to read as they are handwritten in an old German script. The photo copies are also generally not too clear. What I have done is to scan for names. These are many times easy to spot if you look carefully. You can also usually tell what type of record it is by the name pattern. Birth, death, marriage. Make a print of the entry on the film reader and then find someone who can read the old writ\ting and pay them to translate. Today's German speakers rarely can read this stuff, but ask at the center and they will know someone who can. I am in exactly your position and it is difficult.
