Alvina's father was Christian Johann (JOHN)Cohrt (b. 1853 in Schleswig-Holstein Germany.) Christian was married to Anna Marie Jacobsen. They immigrated to the US sometime around 1884 and resided in Crawford County, Iowa and Ida County, Iowa. John and Anna had several children, one of which was my great grandmother Alvina.
