Hello all, Among other things I have found scant mention of the schooner, George E. Vernon that my great grandfather captained in a GOOGLE BOOK search. The book " OUTING " VOL XXII April - September, 1893 mentions on page 108 " .... by the report of the schooner George E. Vernon of Newport, RI bound from Hamburg to New York which saw .... " etc. etc. and additional comments by my g'g'father Peter H. Armbrust although they misspelled his name. Evidently this event took place during August of 1893. Captain Peter Armbrust was born the Hamburg area. Would anyone know if there might be records of the Vernon's visit to Hamburg and if so how I might access them ? Thank you.
