Are you on this website? Thank you for your offer: Hopefully you can make heads / tails of this to sort it out and legible to make sense of it. I would like to see someone else's translation of half German and Danish language written here. Haderslev Vor Frue Haderslev Haderslev Haderslev Vor Frue 1855 1886 X This covers marriages. Opslag pages are as they are on-line to read on this website of the film. I started reading the first pages taking down notes where necessary and the last pages to look for an index. Start at the bottom noticing the Zielke entry from the index for page 595 then I ran into reading it on Oplsag 506. Then I started counting back about 17 pages ...... Finally I found Veng on Opslag 489. Opslag 1 and 2 hard to read the handwriting. Opslag 3 starts with 1860 - 2 names... male and female with witnesses In different handwriting, an adjustment to read... Mixture of both Danish / German language in the entry. Opslag 489 Marriages Copulations 1875 #25 Nov. 4 (starts in Danish) Mads Petersen Veng, Wagens__ Peter Petersen Veng Kirstine Marie f. Peong i Bo____ und _________ Annie Dorthea Christensen, datter af ____ Arbeiter Jörgen Peter _ Christensen and Anne Marie f. Rasmusdatter (No witnesses mentioned.) Paragraph above the Pastor's signature: (Ends in German): Erster fornight Bescheinigung über Aufnahmen wo Heiraths "Urkunde" c. o. Hadersleben C Nov. 4, 1875 übt auf. Pastor Bruhn or Pastor Benke (Check the entry at the bottom to see name written legibly It is also on other pages.) #25 Nov. 4 Mads Petersen Veng, Wagens__ bei __ Arbeiter checking on occupations Peter Petersen Veng og _____ Kirstine Marie f. Peong i Bo____ and _________ Annie Dorthea Christensen, datter of ____ Arbeiter Jörgen Peter _ Christensen and Anne Marie f. Rasmusdatter Translation of lower paragraph: A fornight ago certifies the beginning of marriage proceedings exercised here in Hadersleben on November 4, 1875. Can read the names and dates. Looks like Veng, the parents, came from somewhere else; written as scrawling as illegible for me to read. Certain European websites seem to be off line at the end of the month - start of the new month; same as last month, but with no warning or notice this time. The pages just were not on-line at all over April 30th until May 1st. Can you follow my description and translation? Very much appreciated for another pair of eyes. 3. Hello Kay, I am very sorry, but what exactly is your question? Do you mean this record: Haderslev vor Frue Opslag 489 Marriages Copulations 1875 #25 Nov. 4 I do not think something German is mentioned, only at the remark below the text. In my opinion it is mentioned: Copulations (Weddings) 1875 Mads Petersen Veng, vognmand son af Peter Petersen Veng arbeidsmand og hustru Kirstine Marie f. Ploug i Boiskoo? + tjenestepige Anne Dorthea Christensen datter af afdöde arbeidsman Jörgen Petersen Christensen og hustru Anne Marie f. Rasmusdatter And next some standard text/remark about the wedding which is at more weddings and does not reveal anything of importance Mads Pedersen Veng driver/coachman son of Peter Petersen Veng, labourer and wife Kirstine Marie née Ploug in Boiskoo? (farm/placename) + the servant Anne Dorthea Christensen daughter of the deceased labourer Jørgen Petersen Christensen and wife Anne Marie née Rasmusdatter Hope this will be of help Reina ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, May 05, 2009 7:37 PM Subject: Re: [SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN-ROOTS] Schleswig & Southern Denmark Reina wrote: Maybe I can help?
