The only access to census records for Schleswig-Holstein is through the archives in Schleswig and in Copenhagen, Denmark, and through what the Mormons have microfilmed, and through what has been transcribed by volunteers and which is online, for free. None of the volunteers databases are anywhere near complete. The former Duchy Schleswig has been covered better than Holstein as the Danes worked on it a lot. They tend to think of Schleswig as being a part of Denmark. If somebody proclaims he has "full" access to "some" census records, beginning in 1769, then this somebody is trying to treat you to info that everybody who has an internet connection can "fully" access. The Danish census project begins with some census lists of the year 1769. Census lists for Holstein and for what is now the north of Schleswig-Holstein, i. e. the southern part of the former Duchy Schleswig, have no census records younger than 1864. Whatever is more recent than 1864 was evaluated and sold for pulping. The mere statistics may be available, but not the original lists with the names on them.
