    1. [SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN-ROOTS] Peters Family
    2. Jan Kokrda
    3. Diana, This really is interesting, maybe we could have a connection! My grt. grandfather, and his 2 bro. in laws all lived in Omaha for a few years too. I do know of a niece that came to live with my grandfather's family, Minni Prus, which a cousin of my father's has told me. She died and was supposedly buried in the German cemetery in Plainview, NE but I can't find any record of that back in 1898 or so. But I don't recall a nephew coming I think this lady did say a brother to this girl came to Omaha but have tried to trace that too. Their mother had died in Germany and the father did not have means to care for them. I don't know what the cause of death was for Minni. I live in Omaha and have not found anything and have checked. Plainview, Ne is my original home town so I have searched it. I don't know how they could have been related to this grt. grandfather either, it could be on many sides. My grt grandfather's family Hinrich Lorenz b. 1846, his wife Louise Kuhl, as follows: his parents, Detlev Holm Lorenz and wife Christina von Stamm (her second marriage) Their children: Anna, Detlev Holm married Antje Dresen,Matthias, Peter, Christina, and my grt. grandfather Hinrich. (Christina married a Hans Graves and lived in Co. Bluffs, IA, but don't know anything about the rest. The first marriage of Christina also had 5 children: Antje,Friedrich,Thoms,Trienke married twice, and Hans. So really could be any of these families. This info from Detlev's death record. I have communicated with many of Christina, the child's family, in IA too. Then the Wulf family was Nicolaus Wulf b. 1846, wife Amalia Kuhl, Nicolaus's family : parents Claus of Hennstedt and Catharina Husted Wulf (of Delve) Magdalena and Claus Johann died as infants, Catharina Magdelena married Johann Mueller, Maria, Nicolaus - my grt grandfather, Hermann came to OH, Ferdinand Dierck supposedly came to OH too but can't trace him for sure. Some of the Wulfs changed the spelling to Wolf and was sometimes in Germany Wulff. This info from Claus's death record. I have communicated with Hermann's family still in Ohio. I had a researcher get most of this info for me since the Family History Center has not filmed this area. They have a film that is like a church census which is what I started with. Then the researcher went from there. I do need to see if I can get some more records as I have some holes in my tree that are still not filled. Any connections let me know, I will let the sting attached so we can look back, Jan Kokrda in Omaha Your message: I just read my Great Grandfathers story again and on his immigration records it has him going to Illinois. and in his story it has them ending up in Omaha, Nebraska living with and Uncle for two months. and in Nebraska is were his sister left her son with him and then disappeared. From their he went to Minnesota, Washington State, Idaho and back to Washington State were he died in Spokane, Washington. So the Uncle must have moved to Nebraska, your story of your Family in Illinois and them moving to Nebraska is so much the same story in my Great Grandfathers story. Your Family went to Nebraska in 1880 and my Family in 1883. ( maybe we are related and maybe not, but it sounds fishy) I got Johan Peters birth date from the record my cousin Rose has, I think it was a vaccination record and he was age 11 in 1835. and I got Webka Margaretha ? from her head stone in Leland, Idaho. I will have to email Rose and see what she thinks about this.
