Dear Diana, I doubt that I have any new information on your Peters family, but I noticed some interesting similarities to my Family History. I live here in Washington State, and in 1904 a sister of my grandfather, Peter Hinrich Johannsen (aka Phillip Henry Johnson) ,wrote a letter to a widely circulated German newspaper in Chicago, Illinois trying to locate her brother. Her address at the time was Hoquiam, Washington. Due to many convoluted circumstances my grandfather never saw the advertisement, nor did the family in California who saw the ad, ever answer that letter. My grandfather did eventually settled in the Seattle area. The two siblings passed as ships in the night, and an entire branch of the family is unknown. Another thing that caught my eye was the mention of Hennstedt. Are you talking of the Hennstedt in Norder Dithmarschen? The Johannsen line was in and around that area for many generations. I find that I have a Margrethe Peters in my data base who married a Hans Marx, probably around 1750. I have done a little research on microfilm in that area. This is just a sidelight; if I can be of further assistance to you, let me know... JUDITH Bremerton, WA
