Ich habe nach ein paar Jahren Pause wieder mit der Ahnenforschung angefangen. Ich habe auch schon einiges erreicht, aber an einem Punkt bleibe ich immer wieder hängen. Der befindet sich aber in naher Vergangenheit un nicht im 17. Jahrhundert oder so. Und zwar ist mein Urgroßvater am 16. August 1923 beerdigt worden und es steht auch im KB, dass er am 13. August gestorben ist, nur nicht, wo. In den umliegenden Ämtern haben sie auch nach mehrmaligem Nachfragen die Sterbeurkunde nicht. Er soll angeblich an den Folgen einer Kriegsverletzung gestorben sein. Jetzt ist meine Frage: Habe ich irgendeine Möglichkeit herauszufinden, wo er gestorben ist oder ob seine Witwe Geld bekommen hat, oder ob sie einen Vormund für die minderjährigen Kinder hatte. Ich habe es hier schon beim Greicht versucht, die wissen aber nichts. Kann einer von Euch mir sagen, wie ich da weiterkommen könnte? Auf seiner Geburtsurkunde ist übrigens kein Vermerk.

I found my Johan Jorgen Pries in 1845 Noer. His third name was Friedrich & I've seen him called Fritz in other records. He was born 1834, his sister Elise is 2 years older & his mother Friedericka Hamann was born 1800 at Borghorst. In 1845 she is a widow. Is there any way to find her husband ( Fritz's father)? I remember my family saying Johan Jorgen (Fritz) was a grounds keeper for a royal estate. Thank you again for your help. Greetings from New Zealand. I am researching part of my extended family. Lena FURST arrived in New Zealand from ? in 1886. Her naturalisation documents state that she was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany in about 1859. Her marriage documents record that her father's name was Henry FURST and her mother's name was Maria JOSS. I have had a look at familysearch.org for a marriage for Henry and Maria, and a birth for Lena with no luck. Similarly no matches on Ancestry.com trees. I have assumed that it is possible that Lena was either Helena or Magdalena. I would be very grateful to hear from anyone who could point me in the right direction or has some connection to either of these families. Thanks so much, Christine

Data as listed below are correct and I can supply additional more detailed information to all Lund descendants that trace back to Lund Moellmark (in German "Möllmark"). Lund Möllmark can be traced back down to 1667. Family members immigrated to US mostly mids of 19 century and came from Eckernförde, Norderbrarup, Klein-Wolstrup, Hamburg. But all were descendants of Claus Lund I and Jes Lund I owning a farm at Möllmark. A farm that is still owned by Jes Lund (IV or V). He had 2 sons, Heinrich Markus Wilhelmer born 1856 and Wilhelm Peter August born Feb 1, 1871. I do not know what his wife's name was other than "Annie". Both sons emigrated to the USA in 1881 and 1887 respectively and were traveling alone without Mother Annie. Wilhelm went to Lindemann School in Heiligenhafen. In my deceased wife's records is a Detlef Nicolaus Johannsen b 1864 who married a Dorothea Margaaretha Christina Hamann from Getdorf. This came from the Eckenforde church records....we were there in 1982 My wife had a lot of Hamann ancestors;...she grew up in Omaha, NE. jdbentz@prodigy.net

I didn't find your Johann at this place but there is a Freidericka Hamann who is 45 and has children named Pries. The children were born at Noer.
