There is one error in it. The Joachim Stoltenberg who died 04/26/1904 and is buried in Oakland in Lot 13-31-1 was not married to Cecilia Giese. Instead, this Joachim Stoltenberg was married to Abel (Bortger or Boettcher) who died 1907 and is buried next to Joachim in Oakland Lot 13-31-2. In addition, the Joachim Stoltenberg who is listed here was born 16 Oct. 1820, and not in 1831. Joachim and Abel's daughter and son-in-law, Catherina and Christian Broer, are buried next to her parents in Oakland Lots 13-31-3 and 13-31-4. Three Broer children are also buried nearby. They will charge you to look for the information and then to copy it and mail it. I have yet to find one who would actually email the documents they find. What we do is write in English (we don't know enough German to write in German) but we tell them that we do not know German and then we translate what we have written into German with the help of the online translators. We use Google and sometimes one other one because the translators are far from being perfect. When writing for the first time we also ask them to please let us know if we are writing to the wrong place and if so, if they can tell us where to write. We have always received a reply. I would suggest that you keep your sentences very short and to the point as the translators do a much better job with short sentences. Make sure you are very polite and thankful. A better option would be to look for documentation in the country where your Schleswig-Holstein ancestor emigrated: census, passenger lists, naturalization documents, military, and possibly church books in the community where they settled. Once you have some clue about a birth town or last residence in Schleswig-Holstein, you can contact the archive where these records are kept in Schleswig-Holstein. Personally I've had good luck hiring a professional genealogist who is familiar with Schleswig-Holstein archives. It's a lot easier and more productive than trying to do it myself.
