    3. Hello and thank you. All I have on Hinrich Dammann is that he married my 4th g'grandmother after she had the ARMBRUST son and that he (Dammann) was born 1757 Itzehoe (assumed). Do any of your DAMMANNs connect ? I don't believe the others have any connection to my line. 1. [SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN-ROOTS] ARMBRUST / WETZEL
    2. Bob
    3. Hello all, I'm looking for the father of Johann Matthias Anton ARMBRUST born 1789 Itzehoe, S-H, Germany. He's the illegitimate son of Margarethe WENDEL (WETZEL) born 1767 Itzehoe (assumed) S-H, Germany. She later married Hinrich DAMMANN and they had a daughter Margarethe DAMMANN in 1802. All these people are in the 1803 Itzehoe Census listed as family No. 315. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Any suggestions as to how to track this family back in time will be greatly appreciated. Matthias married Catharina WITTMAACK born 1786 of Olendorf, Helligen, Germany in 1811 and they had six children, all born in Itzehoe. The oldest, Ferdinand Jurgen Friedrich A. born 1815 (my 2nd great grandfather) moved to Blankenese, married Anna M. TIEMANN in 1842 and became a ship captain / owner of the schooner Ferdinand out of Hamburg. He died at sea 1863, she at Blankenese 1897. Besides my g'grandfather Peter Heinrich A. they had six other children of which I have limited to no information. I do have info on Peter continuing to present day. If anyone on this list has any suggestions as to how how best pursue this family line I can provide what details I have and perhaps we can develop a lead or two. I have researched whatever is available online and gone as far as I can with it until more becomes available. Unfortunately budgetary constraints prohibit me hiring a professional in my quest. Thanking you in advance, I'll appreciate any advice and help. Bob Armbrust Port Orange, FL USA

    3. I am checking to see if anyone lives in Hennstedt and could see if there is a house No. 1 that was the home of my Claus Wulf family in 1860. This is the listing of the 1860 AKVZ Datenbank Census. I had a cousin go to Hennstedt last year and did find the No. 29 house of our 2Xgreat grandparents Hans Kuhl in 1860. Per some person in the village directed them to the home and they took a photo of this home still there. I will see if anyone on the list still lives in Hennstedt or any Wulf family members still live there. Jan in US -- I am using the free version of SPAMfighter. 3. Wondering what the poem means, I did a computer translation via BabelFish, which reported: Here you have a Taler geh' to the market purchase you a cow Tickle tickle tickle you The Google translator reports: Here's a dollar go to the market buy yourself a cow Tickle tickle tickle you For fun, here is a webpage with a few more lines to the nursery rhyme - it tells what does the tickling: http://www.mamalisa.com/?t=es&p=390&c=38 Enjoy! You have made my night! I was just about to go to bed and I saw your message. It must have been Nicoline....Aunt Lena. All the info you found fits! The one sketchy thing is the year of her marriage to Peter as I thought she was the eldest child. And my Mother has described a photo of Lena & Peter's wedding. She said her mother was in it and looked like a young child. But photos can somtimes be misleading. Now I know my Uncle Jack's twin's name and that he was a baby boy. Thank you. My grandmother didn't speak much of her family in Denmark. However, I do know that there was, from the first marriage: Andrew, Lena, Theodore, 1st Jacob. (My Aunt claims there were 8 children but I'm not sure). From the second marriage there were: Anna, Helen, Milet (Millert), Jacob & his twin. (My Aunt claims 7 in the second marriage...hahaha! Perhaps she is correct!) I would love if you would send me the parish records! Thank you so much! And I will Google the names. How interesting! Thank you so very much. I just had to find my Mother's Grandparent's names and where they came from....who they were. Thank you again! Author: jojensagain Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.ceeurope.germany.schleswig.general/6437.1.1.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: So...are you sure that her name was Magdeline? I looked through the Nørre Løgum parish records (where Vester Terp is) in Tønder. I found birth records for several children of Hans Andreas Friedrichsen and Magdelene Elisabeth Brozat. And children of Hans Andreas Friedrichsen and Johanne Uldall. ...but no Magdeline. There was however, a daughter named Nicoline who was born Dec 1 1896. And there are birth records for Jens Ejler Friedrichsen Kjemtrup, b. Feb 3 1926 and Kenneth (yep - ' Kenneth') Friedrichsen Kjemtrup, b. Feb 24 1927 to Peter Nielsen Kjemtrup and Nicoline Friedrichsen in Haverslev Aalborg. This is not the same Peter Nielsen Kjemtrup that I originally found - probably a relative but I didn't research it - this Peter Nielsen Kjemtrup was born April 1 1900 in Haverslev. Anyway, according to the 1930 Danish census Peter Nielsen Kjemtrup married Nicoline Friedrichsen (from Tyskland) in 1921. In answer to a couple of your other questions: Magdelene Elisabeth Brozat Friedrichsen died on Mar 20 1903. Hans Andreas Friedrichsen married Johanne Uldall in Nørre Løgum parish on July 15 1905. Johanne Marie Uldall was born in Øster Løgum parish, Aabrenra on May 6 1878. Parents Hans Peter Uldall and Anne Catherine Petersen. Jacob Christian and August Marius Friedrichesen were born to Hans Andreas Friedrichsen and Johanne Marie Uldall on March 12 1917 in Vester Terp, Nørre Løgum parish. Have you tried doing a simple Google search for 'Kjemtrup Friedrichsen' ? I tried it (on an off chance) and came up with quite a few photos including a wedding picture (unfortunately I didn't see anything that said where the wedding was) and several family pictures. Give it a try and if you think this may be your family you may want to get in touch with the person who posted them.... BTW I have temporarily saved copies of the parish records that I found. If you're interested, let me know and I can forward them to you. J Murphy Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Jens Ejler Kjemtrup (b. 1926) & Kenneth Kjemtrup were born in Denmark. It may have been Tonder, Vetra Teyn or Westerterp Denmark. Or Schleswig-Holstein Germany. Jens Ejler came to California, USA. I am wondering if Kenneth is a Danish name? I have very little info on my great Grandparents. I do know my Grandmother spoke of Tonder & Schleswig-Holstein. There is such a huge distance between them, however. Magdalena (Aunt Lena) Friedrichsen Kjemtrup, Peter's wife, was my grandmother's eldest sister. She took care of her siblings when their mother died in 1903. Their father remarried a Johanna/Joannna Uldall. It is very difficult to find any info on Uldall. Last night I found a Johanna Uldall (no date of birth, death) and found her parents came from Tonder Denmark. I do know Johanna Uldall died in childbirth in 1917 when my Uncle Jack was born. I have no idea whether his deceased twin was a boy or girl. I am told that Kenneth Kjemtrup lived in Denmark all his life and had 5 children. My grandmother's, Amelia Friedrichsen b.1902, Immigration Record states she was born in Vetra Teyn, Denmark. My Uncle Jack's, Jacob Christian Friedrichsen b. 1917, Immigration Record states he was born in Westerterp Denmark. A sister of his from the second marriage has an Immigration Record stating she was born in Westerterp Denmark, also. Last night I went onto Ancestry.de where I found Johanna Uldall.
