Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/kVC.2ACE/3364 Message Board Post: I would like to know if anyone has any information about Claus, Hinrich, Wilhelmine or Katerina Sticken. Wilhelmine's Maiden name was Oland and Claus, Hinrich and Wilhelmine are all burried in Eidsvold Qld Australia. I know that Claus, Hinrich and Wilhelmine as well as some other Sticken's all came to Australia in 1866 on the Ship Beusite but I have no information regarding what family they may have left back in Germany.

    3. Manning, IA is one of the few places you can find a "real" German hausbarn. It was built in Germany in (1860 I think), torn down in the 1980s or 90s and all the parts numbered, shipped to Manning and a crew from Germany rebuilt it there. Thatch roof and all. I was born in Manning and graduated from high school there (many moons ago). ----- Original Message ----- From: "TerribleHerbst" <herbst1@cox.net> To: <SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN-ROOTS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, October 07, 2003 11:39 PM Subject: [S-H-RTS] RC: Wunderlich,Peters,Doose Dithmarschen > Hi folks, > > Here is my family info for this roll call - > > Jurgen Wunderlich > Born 1827 Schwienhusen, Kreis Dithmarschen, Schleswig -Holstein Germany > Died 1897 Manning, Iowa, USA > Married to: > First wife - nee Dose or Doose Died 1854 > Second wife - Johanna Catharina Peters Married 1855 > Third Wife - Agneta Thede Born 1834 Erfde Died 1908 Manning, Iowa > > One son from first marriage: > Jurgen Nicholas Wonderlick 1852 -1930 > > 4 children from second marriage lived past childhood: > Dora Wunderlich 1855 - 1944 > Kate Wunderlich 1858 - 1944 > Anna Wunderlich 1862 -1948 > John Wunderlich 1865 - 1904 > > 2 children from third marriage: > Margaret Wunderlich 1869 -1910 > Thee Wonderlich 1871 - 1961 > > Regards, > Howard > > > > ==== SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN-ROOTS Mailing List ==== > The Frequently_Asked_Questions web-site can be found at: > http://www.genealogy-sh.com/faq-sh-roots/index.htm >

Names and birth years are: Martin (approx. 1840) Wilhelmina (1836) Herman (1864) and wife Matilda (1869), children Eric (1888) and Marlene (1889) Ferdinand (1866) Freidrich (1871) Martha (1873) I realize that these fall outside your indexes but any information and advice would be greatly appreciated. The only other information I have is that Martin did not travel with his wife and children, but did come later and may have died during the voyage. 1. Re: [S-H-RTS] Schöning/Nielsen
    2. My grandmother, Anna Marie Schoning or Schonning or Schöning or Schoening (who knows how many other possible spellings?) was born in Haderslev on 4 June 1884. Her parents were Rudolf (Anton) Schonning b. 25 May 1856 and Caroline Nielsen b. 13 Apr 1859 in Haderslev. In ~1909 Anna Marie gave birth to an illegitimate son, Rudolph Schonning. In 1910, Anna Marie arrived at Ellis Island (alone). Her passage was paid by her aunt, Marie Lund of Penn Ave. in Perth Amboy, NJ. Anybody have any Lund's in Perth Amboy, NJ? Anna Marie worked as a house servant for a minister in NYC and in 1912 she married Knud Aggerholm Jensen (who had immigrated from Mollerup in 1903). In 1913, there is a record that Anna Marie's father, Rudolf Schonning, arrived at Ellis Island, and his destination was the address at which Anna Marie and her husband, Knud, were living on Hall Ave. in Perth Amboy, NJ. I can find no record of the arrival of Anna Marie's mother, Caroline Nielsen Schonning, or the illegitimate son, Rudolph, although, I have information from the children of Anna Marie and Knud that Rudolf Schonning, his wife Caroline and their illegitimate grandson, Rudolph, lived in Perth Amboy for many years thereafter. I'm looking for any information on this family in Haderslev. Also, Anna Marie had an older sister, Laura, who was (interestingly) born somewhere in PA, during an earlier, short-lived immigration. No indication of them being in PA during the 1880 census. Laura, at age ~40, married Jens Beck Jensen, the brother of Anna Marie's husband (two sisters married two brothers). Anybody out there have any clues or information? Kathryn Jensen Jewett

    3. Eugene: Endless thanks for your offer! My ggrandfather, Peter JOHNSON (Johnsen), emigrated from Schleswig (Als, Sonderborg) sometime between the late 1850's and 1868. His birthdate was 16 Apr 1839. He married my ggrandmother in Milwaukee in 1868 (also my hometown). Ggrandmother Martha Hansen, born 7 Aug 1851, emigrated in or about 1866 -- but I do not know if they came over together. Either of them could have been travelling with other HANSENS (Jochim was Martha's father), or CLAUSENS, or KAADS, whom I am also researching. Any information would be greatly appreciated! 3. Looking for ancestors of my g-g grandparents, Johann VOSS (b. 1804 in Holstein) and Catherine MILLER. I have info on my great grandfather, Wilhelm Heinrich, born in 1848 in Bernsdorf (I've seen other spellings), Holstein, and emigrated in 1860 with his father and two brothers, Henry (probably Heinrich), b. 1845 and August, b. 1853. The oldest brother, Frederick VOSS , b. 1841, emigrated in 1859 and settled in Plattesville, WI. He served in the WI cavalry in the Civil War, and married Minnie SPETH. They moved to Iowa to be near Johann and stayed there the rest of their lives. Johan's second wife was named Fredericka. Johann and the younger sons settled near State Center, Iowa where John and Fredericka are buried. Henry VOSS was living in Wisconsin in 1909; August VOSS married in State Center and was living in Council Bluffs, Iowa in 1909. Wilhelm VOSS was in St. Joseph, MO. Catherine VOSS remained in Germany and married a man with the surname of Koch. I assume that Catherine Miller died before the family emigrated but have no evidence one way or the other. Any info appreciated. Kim Voss Wiar kwiar@cox.net
