I am trying to determine if it is possible to get a Nachlasstestament for an ancestor who died in 1828: Claus Hinrich REIMER, Hufner u. Kirchjurate in Stampe, + 7 Jul 1828; OO Metta Elisabeth WRIEDT, 1 Jul 1777. >From the Todes register I read that at Metta Elisabeth's death, the eldest son was living 'at his fathers stead': St.Georg- und Mauritius-Kirche Totenregister Flemhude 1819, # 15, gest. 10.10; begr. This made me wonder if a Testament was made and if so, does it still exist as a document, and if so, where would it be. Sind solche Akten erreichbar? I didn't see any names in your list that I recognize but thought I'd mention that if you acquire any Schoolmann, Dau, Geil, Karstens, Bruhn, Schenk in the area check with me further. John

I will talk to my mother this evening and see what she will tell me. I remember her telling me about a wedding I think in Oslo, where she was born, and how the bride was marrying the King or Prince and she was being taken through the streets by carriage. And I asked her if it upset her, that she was in the crowd although it was her cousin or 2nd cousin being married and she said no, that if anyone knew it would be terribly embarrassing to them. My sister recently moved to Ottawa where they have the Danish Consolate, my mom made her promise not to look into any information while she is there. I will definately get back to you Anne! 3. Many thanks to Hans George Boyken for the information about Gage County Cemeteries. My Voss line (paternal) is from Holstein and settled in Iowa and Wisconsin. My Bohlman line (my mother's father) is from Kleinborstal in Hannover and settled in Gage County, Nebraska. Two of my great aunts, Rebecca and Elizabeth Bohlman, married brothers, Frank and William Krauter. I found Krauters in the Claytonia Cemetery that I did not have in my records, as well as the birth and death dates for George Krauter (father of Frank and William). My first cousin once-removed, William Krauter, Jr., was born in the Cortland area in 1912 in a house built by my grandfather, Henry Bohlman and his father, William Krauter. Bill Jr. died October 14, 2003 in Cortland. His widow Ellen will continue to live in Cortland for at least six months. If anyone is researching the Krauter family I would be happy to exchange information. 1. Re: [S-H-RTS] Hadenfeld's to America
    2. Dear inquirer, I am only a little acquainted with the Hadenfeldts in Nebraska. Just a year ago I discovered my own family line, the Bensenberg family, in Buffalo County. I know there were some marriages with Hadenfeldts - either directly with Bensenbergs or with members of the Baade family, originally from Mecklenburg. My ancestor, Augusta Bensenberg, married William Baade in about 1903. I have not had time to study that family, but have forwarded your e-mail to a relative of that family to ask for help. She may send information to me, or e-mail you directly. I have some pictures of headstones from Hadenfeldts in Cairo, NE. If you have a fax machine, I would be happy to copy the pictures and fax them to you. Cairo, NE is a very small community and there is no library there. We had good genealogy help from the Grand Island Public Library. Their local history department is quite good, and perhaps they would do some research for you. Grand Island Public Library 211 N. 3. Hi, I am researching the SCHNEPEL and PETERS families from the Albertsdorf and Schafstedt areas and the RICKERT family from Bad Segeberg. Hans, many thanks for the photos of Albertsdorf. I believe there are still Schnepel families living in that area. My gg grandmother Anna Schnepel was born in Schafstedt on 15th November 1846. Her parents were Claus Schnepel born 15 March 1805 and Antje Peters born 11 April 1811. My blank wall is her grandparents on the Peters side. I only have the names Peter Peters and Lena? Anna married Hans Christian Rickert in Australia in 1879. He was supposedly born in Bad Segeberg on 18th Nov 1854 to Max Rickert and Catherine Dalfs but I have not found any records to confirm this. He supposedly deserted ship from the German merchant navy when he came to Australia but I have not been able to validate this. Here's hoping these names ring a bell with someone. Regards Alison
