    2. Hi Karla, I'd be most interested in your list of FRAHM names, as I believe my 3rd Great Grandmother was Elsabe FRAHM, who might have been from Lohe, Hohn Parish, Schleswig Holstein, Germany. Can you make any connection to that name? You can contact me directly if you think the list would not be interested. Thanks for the offer, Jeanne

    3. Dear Readers. It is about time that we introduce our work to you. For a long time we were busy transcribing multiple data from census registers or to enter hand written data electronically. Now we have something to show. Have a look at: http://www.AGGSH.de It is here that you find, apart from the census data transcribed by members and co-workers (which are also entered into the Danish data bank), additional sources for your genealogical research. An example is the source index of the Christian-Albrecht University of Kiel. This card index (approx. 25,000 index cards) was created from approx. 1965 to the beginning of the 1990ies. It contains transcripts of historically relevant sources from the era of the 16th. century to the beginning of the 20th/ century which originate primarily from the Provincial Archives in Schleswig, but also from county and municipal archives. They comprise official budgets, real estate registers, court, police and visitation protocols, inventories or succession agreements. The Index is available, alphabetically sorted by names as well as by locations, at http://www.AGGSH.de Our most recent project: The members of the America Society (Amerika Gesellschaft e.V.) in Bad Segeberg have been working for years creating an emigrant archive containing data of people who emigrated from Schleswig-Holstein. Meanwhile, this index has reached approx. 7,000 cards. The Work Group Genealogy Schleswig-Holstein has undertaken, within the framework of the AGGSH Work Group Emigration, to record these cards on the computer. Again, you can find initial results on our web pages at: http://www.AGGSH.de As you can imagine, there is a lot of work to be done. Can you see yourself helping us out? Contact us and you will receive preliminary information at mailto:Info@AGGSH.de Last, but not least, our interactive emigration data bank. Have a look whether there are already some of your relatives in our data bank. On behalf of the AGGSH e.V. Gabriele Bloecker, Schleswig-Holstein Translated by Juergen P. Schultz, Canada

    1. [S-H-RTS] Holstein census about 1828
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Grimm, Rohlfs, Linnemann Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/kVC.2ACE/3372 Message Board Post: I'm trying to find more about my Grimm & Rohlfs families. My grandmother's maternal grandparents have been found in Danish census records 1870, 1880 & 1890. In those records they list birthplace as Bredenbæk Pløns amt Holstein or similar and Havighorst Presth. Holstein or similar. I've found that a few areas of Holstein 1803 census have been posted to the Danish census and emigrant database site. I have been unable to find enough details of this area to know where else to go to find census or church records. I have not been able to find Bredenbaek or Havighorst or Hohenmuhle places on a map. Hermann Nicholas Grimm born about 20 Aug 1828 Dorothea Augusta Rohlfs born about 28 Apr 1828 had Christian Grimm, Dorathea Florentine Henriette Grimm who married Carl Evard Mertensen Linnemann, Adolf Frederik Heins Grimm between about 1854 - 1860 in above mentioned areas in Holstein. One child or more may have been baptized in Rosau Kirke under Lubeck. Then the family moved into northern Denmark (Aalborg county) and had Carl Thomas Lars Grimm,Bertha Augusta Grimm, Henrik Hermann Jorkim Grimm, Herman Ditlev Anders Grimm and Mathilda Albertine Cathrine Grimm between 1862- 1869. I would appreciate any help from someone more familiar with this area regarding how to find the next information. It would especially be helpful if someone has access to census or church records. Thank you
