    3. (English below) Hallo List, Ich forsche nach einem Georg/Jürgen Andreas HARTWIG, der 1701?-1715 Rittmeister für Schleswig-Holstein Gottorf war. Jahrhunderte) Hello Listers, I am researching a Georg/Jürgen Andreas HARTWIG, who was a cavalry captain (Rittmeister) for Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf from around 1701-1715. I have a few questions that have come up in my search, and hope someone can answer them: 1. It is likely that HARTWIG was in “das Flecken Neumünster” around 1701-1703. (That is where the staff of the contingent was located.) Around this time he also married Dorothea Sophia SCHUMACHER. The LDS do not have any microfilmed church records for this place and time period. Are there then other, printed, sources for this? If so, what are they called, and where could I find something like this? 2. I have found a very useful and interesting article about HARTWIG’S regiment. It was written in 1936. One of the sources it lists is in the STAATSarchiv in Kiel (state archives). However, an internet search turns up only a STADTarchiv (city archive). Does anyone know where the holdings from the STAATSarchiv can be found today? Thanks in advance! 1. Re: [S-H-RTS] to LT Freese
    2. I truly wish that I could give some relevant information to LT Freese about his Martin ancestors n Sidsdorf, but unfortunately my S-H ancestors were Schönings. None the less, I would like to say that I and, I would venture to say, many of the other members of this list, are indebted to him, and all those like him, who make the sacrifice that makes it possible for the rest of us to have the freedom to pursue interests like genealogy -- or whatever our interests are. Every day I wake up with the freedoms I enjoy because people of LT Freese and hundreds of thousand of otherrs like him. Danke and/or Mange tak, Kathryn

    3. Hello Keith, Info about SIPSDORF, from a 1854 written book: A village at the street from Eutin to Oldenburg, in the estate Lübbersdorf, church parish Oldenburg. It has 1 rented farm, 7 full farms, 13 cottages owned by the estate and 8 cottages owned by private individuals. In 1855 it had 421 inhabitants. If you search for a census, than you find it at this jurisdiction: " Lübbersdorf = Grossherzoglich Oldenburgisches Fideicommisgut " I guess that this LDS films are the right ones: http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/fhlcatalog/supermainframeset.asp?display=localitydetails&subject=50480&subject_disp=Germany%2C+Preu%C3%9Fen%2C+Schleswig%2DHolstein%2C+Oldenburg+%28G%C3%BCterdistrikt%29&columns=*,0,0 Regards, Hans Peter Voss

    3. Corrected copy. Ladies and Gentlemen: Does anyone have access to 1840 to 1860 censuses for Sipsdorf? If so, could you please look up Jacob Henry Freese and Margaretta Catherine Martin. He was born 30 Dec 1839 and married Margaretta Catherine Martin in 1863. She was born on 1 Oct 1839. Am trying to discover who their parents were for a paper I am writing about my family at the University of Memphis. Thank you for your time and consideration! 3. To Gabriele Bloecker, Thank you for the explanations and the hard work of your group! I noticed your surname immediately! I have been researching my children's ancestors Sophia and Henry Blocker for several years. The Bloecker/Blocker/Bloker Family immigrated from Postfeld (near Preetz), Holstein, Prussia to Scott Co., IA, arriving at the port of New Orleans, LA on 27 June 1847. Do you have an interest in this family or know someone who does? Thanks! The family consisted of: Mother; Sophia Dorothea (LANGHOF) age 44, she was the daughter of Marie (LUETGEN) and Johann LANGHOF. Father; Hinrich "Henry" Christian Friedrich BLOCKER, age 42, Farmer, he was the son of Magdelina Catharina (RAMBOW) and Christian BLOCKER. They were accompanied by their six sons and apparently a Blocker relative, C. H. Blocker age 37, Shoemaker. On the passenger list were also listed six children which I am assuming were their sons! Christian age 22; Heinrich "Henry" Fredrich age 18; Claus "Nicholas" age 15 (born 25 Mar. 1832); Asmus age 12 (born 30 July 1835); Jorgen "Jurgen/George" Hinrich age 7 (born 22 July 1841); Johann "John" age 4; and Hans Christian age 1 Sincerely, Martha D.
