    3. I am researching Paul Albrecht Grossmann of Milwaukee WI (born in Solingen, Rheinland, Preussen April 3, 1833) son of Christian Wilhelm Grossmann & Klara Luisa Philippina Neuhaus. Paul A. Grossmann & Mary Leyh's daughter Laura H. Grossmann (born in Milwaukee Wisconsin) married Karl T. Steinmann (born January 24, 1881 in Schwerin, Germany) in Milwaukee Wisconsin and resided in Racine WI until their death. I'd recommend the list archives, http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN-ROOTS, then http://familysearch.org, and then http://google.com where your search terms could be something like +grossman +schleswig +genealogy. :-) Don ----- Original Message ----- From: "John & Kelly Andre" <jkandre@msn.com> I looking for anyone who is researching the Grossmann name from Schleswig.

    1. [S-H-RTS] Flensburg Schule
    2. Adolf Gruber
    3. Flensburg is a fair-sized city with both German and Danish schools - elementary, middle and high schools, vocational schools and - latterly - a university of sorts. It seems unlikely that there is a central archive, and if there is, that there would be someone willing to search records to locate a name. Do you have any further details? For example, if you have the name of the school, you could write directly to them. I suggest you write to the city archives: Stadtarchiv Rathaus 24917 Flensburg and try your luck there. One thing seems certain: Flensburg managed to get through WWII almost totally intact, so there would be no destroyed recordss to worry about. _________________________________________________________________ Tired of spam? 3. Hi John. I'm proud to say that we made some good steps forward on our way in transcribing the censuses during the last months. I myself typed in about 8 villages with aprox. 1500 peoples in southern Holstein ( Amt Reinbek), and its still going on. We worked mainly with the 1835 census, but other years too. But it's still a lot of work to do... I'm sure it will last some years until we finally will reach the goal. I'm sure you know the aggsh website: www.aggsh.de or the danish site http://ddd.dda.dk/ ? 3. I am a new subscriber. My husband's father was in Arnum (now Denmark) in 1920. In his sister's diary, a reference is made to the fact that he attended school for a short time in Flensburg. I would like to find records of his attendance. Four months ago I found Flensburg School website and used that email address to send a query about old records. Apparently this was not the route to take to find these records. Does anyone have a suggestion? Danke, Carol in Texas
