This transcription is a beautiful piece of work and deserves lots of thanks. I was helped to a small extent, but would like some further clarification. I find one person with 'Kind/E', does this mean 'Child/of this marriage (Ehe)'? and a further person 'Kind/To./HF', does this mean 'Child/Daughter/Hausfrau'? It appears to be an illegitimate child, since the age falls within the age of the children from the first mentioned marriage but has the surname of the father of the other children. Hi Debra I see that you have PETERSEN on your list. My Petersen from Carlum, Schleswig-Holstein was Carl Hansen Petersen marr. to Ingeborg Andresen. They were on the 1860 census with daughter, Dorothea and son, Peter - my grandfather who emigrated to New Zealand about 1880. There was also a son, Karsten, from Carl's first marriage. Any connection? Iris of Auckland, New Zealand

Greetings Stephen, I would suggest that you start with checking the 1845 Census for it will likely give the location/Parish where the parents were born. While I have not searched the Oldenberg area, I have searched considerably in the area below Tonder. I have the name Lutzen in my ancestry. What part of England do you live in?
