On her marriage certicate in 1887 she listed her parents: Dorothea Koenig and Hans Wulf. Bertha departed S.H. in 1887 from Hamburg on the ship Gellert arriving in the USA in July of that year. She gave her last residence as Rendsburg. Family stories tell that her mother was a widow when Bertha left S.H.Her father was a professer in some school of higher learning, perhaps in Hamburg. What is the best course of action to follow in order to gain some information? I would be most thankful for any help I can get. Evelyn Kops from Wisconsin , USA

    1. [S-H-RTS] GRILL, HENKE, CHRISTIANSEN, ANDRESEN, PETEREN, MEYER, JACOBSEN
    2. Sandra Reedy
    3. I have not posted my names here before and thought I would give it a try. Any information will be appreciated and I would be glad to share what I have. GRILL, Hans b. 1814 possibly in or around Dahrenwurth, Schleswig-Holstein. He immigrated to the U.S. in approximately 1850 and settled and died in Iowa. He married Catharina HINKE (HENKE, HINCK) who I believe was also from Schleswig-Holstein, but I don't know exactly where. This is my brick wall and I would really like to learn more about Hans. CHRISTIANSEN, Nickles (Nicolas) b. 1833 in Bolem, Schleswig-Holstein (I have not been able to locate this city on any map, but that is what it says on his tombstone) He immigrated to the U.S. in 1873 and settled and died in Iowa. He married Marine JACOBSEN in Germany and she and 4 children immigrated with him to the U.S. SCHROEDER, Johannes (John) b. 1821 and married Christina DAVID in 1853 in Kropp, Schleswig-Holstein. He immigrated about 1882 and settled in Iowa. PETERSEN, Peter b. 1819 married Anna IVENS possibly in Winnert or Schwabstedt, Schleswig-Holstein. MEYER, Christopher (Christoph) b. 1830 in Schleswig-Holstein, but I don't know where. He married Wilhelmina SCHULTZ. ANDERSEN (ANDRESEN), Johann (John) b. 1856 in Schwabstedt or Husem Schleswig-Holstein. He married Christena PETERSEN. Thanks Sandy
