I do not have any info on Euphemon, like his parents, birth year, siblings, time of death, cause of death. My Great Grandmother was Eve's sister, Marie Gracieuse Frederick. Marie Gracieuse Frederick named her first son Euphemon; this would be my grandfather. Church records show that she was not married (Frederick is her maiden name) and the church record does not list a father. Approximately 6 months later Marie Gracieuse Frederick married Joseph Louis Berry. I also have very little on Joseph Louis Berry so if someone out there has info on the Joseph Berry that married Marie Gracieuse Frederick, again I would appreciate it. It looks like from the Census records that when Joseph married Marie, sometimes called Gracie, he had with him a child named Sussanna. This child may have been from a previous marriage, perhaps to an Eakin. I learned recently, from an Aunt that is in her mid 80's that she thinks Joseph Berry is buried near Bell City. I have had some success finding family records since I last posted. I have visited the Nova Scotia Archives and the Massachusetts Archives. The people in your message are all my family. Chales(1836) and Emma(Amalia,Amelia,1847) became Catholic and were married in the Catholic Church at St. Mary's Halifax Jan 10, 1866. The 1881 Canadian Census is online and lists the family except Rose who was born 1882. I have other info if you are interested. His children were Henrietta Olivia (b.1839), Maria Louise (b. 1840), Samuel Arthur (b. 1842), William Frederick (b. 1843), Ellen 9(b.1845), Henry Joseph (b.1847), Emily (b.1849), Mary Zillah (b. 1851) and Walter Seaman (b. 1854). Ken, I had ancestors in Itzehoe. I obtained excellent information from the church holding the parish registers. I sent them an enquiry letter in German. There are some Web sites that provide standard enquiry letters in German. Be sure to ask about not only your named ancestor but also any of his or her family in their records. I also enclosed two International Reply Paid postage certificates. They charged a fee of DM80 (4 hours at DM20 per hour) but that was over 10 years ago so maybe someone else on the list could advise you on current charges in Euros. He came with his brother August to Scribner Dodge County Nebraska. He went back in 1900 for a year with his American family, and we have photos with the family in Germany. In 1927 one of his neice's was married and he returned to Germany for the wedding. We have a similiar picture of the family taken in 1927. Christian had a number of brothers and one sister. Christian's father was a large man, and we believed the family was well to do and prominent.
