There still is a big family alive, because lorenz has had 4 sisters. If you are still interested in the ketelsen family, please tell me how you are related to them. You can just write me an email to [email protected] and if you give me an email-adress, i could give it to my aunt with the name ketelsen. Hi Kay Marie, Hadersleben (Haderslev, in Danish) : 1866 and before : Duchy Schleswig, the last two years under occupation 1867 : incorporated into Prussia 1871 : part of Prussia, Germany. Germany was established in 1871. 1920 : after World War One, a new borderline was drawn - the town became part of Denmark. 2009 : it still is. P. S.: the Danes claim it has always been a part of Denmark. Hi I am trying to trace birth and adoption records for my grandmother.? I am having trouble finding any information and would be gratfeul of any help or advice.? The only information that I have is my grandmothers date of birth (16 Aug 1920), her given names at a bapitsm in 1923 at a Lutheran church in Kiel and she stated that she was born in Kiel.? On the baptism are the names of her adopted parents (which I have information on) but no last name for her.? It is her birth family/nationality that I would like to trace as she never told anyone about them after having been adopted at?2plus ?years old-although she said that she was adopted at 3 years old. Bob, or is it Pat? The LDS has microfilms of the census records for Haderslev county for the following years 1803 1835 1840 1845 1855 1860 1921 http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library/fhlcatalog/supermainframeset.asp?display=localitydetails&subject=149968&subject_disp=Denmark%2C+Haderslev&columns=*,0,0 Unfortunately they don't appear to have any from the period of German rule (1864-1919). The LDS microfilms can be opened into your local LDS Family History Library for a nominal fee to cover their postage and packing costs (it's A$5.00 here in Australia, so about US$4.00 ?)
