He was my mother's older brother. My mom was born in 1932, so the dates that you give match what I know. As Babe isn't that common of a name, I think we are talking about the same Erwin R. Schirmer. He went by Bob or Sonny and his Dad was also Erwin R. Schirmer. His mother was Mildred Geilow. He had two sisters. My mother was the middle child and she died in 1988. The youngest sibling passed last year. I didn't think he was born in MN, but one of my great aunts lived up there, so it is possible. Both of my folks have passed, but if there is any info that my sister or I can recall or fill in for you, feel free to send a message and I'll try and get you what info I can.
