Their parents names were: Nicolai Schirmers Abt. 1815 Sefferweich, Rhineland, Prussia, Germany and Mariae Roths 24 Mar 1816 - Bef. Feb 1868 Sefferweich, Rhineland, Prussia, Germany. THAT Nicolai's parents were Johannis Schirmers Abt. 1795 & Catharinae Clasen Abt. 1795 Huscheid (Nimshuscheid) Mariae Roths parents were Johannis Roths Abt. 1795 & Catharinae Lighter Abt. 1795 Sefferweich, Rhineland, Prussia, Germany - Nicholas, Nicholas, and Theodor were the only ones that lived, and all three immigrated to MN. - I have all this copied from microfilm. I was never able to verify that Theodor and Nicholas were brothers. There was a website that I searched a long time ago (Thomas Pick database) that listed a lot of church records for the Eifel region in Germany and with this database, I had a suspicion that the Schirmers came from Sefferweich, not Baustert. I knew his wife to be Eleanor Ottlieb. However I know he was married before because he had half brothers. My Herman was born 3/6/1850 died 1/27/1922. Came to the USA 6/14/1883. Birth place Schwarmitz, Germany. Brothers: Agusta (sister died in Berlin) Wilhelm, August,Fritz, Reinhold (5 years later) Gustav, Heinrich, Paul. My records show the last two being born in Berlin. There was another brother, Ernst also died in Berlin. The info I have is that all were born in Schwarmitz except the last two. Could it be that is when Herman's father remarried and moved to Berlin. Schirmer"-John's wife--will lead you to information on John U.). John U. was my great grandfather; and one of his seven sons, Frank E. Schirmer, was my grandfather and father of my mother, Gladys L. Bloom (Frank E. died age 55, Jan. 5, 1921, Sacramento--Buried Masonic Cemetery, Elk Grove, CA). That same website lists a John U. Schirmer, Jr., who died at age 21 on 05/13/1874. It also mentions the name "Winkelman" in the write-up. It appears most of the Schirmers were buried at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, CA. I never knew of that until today. I have the children listed as Florence Jenny born Henry County, Jackson tsp (married David Patterson Hill...lived in Trenton Iowa),Ida L born Henry County, Jackson tsp(married Alva Burr,but she was in the home with Barney and family without him in 1885 census)the next6 kids were born in Henry County Trenton tsp James 'William', John 'Frank'(married RoseBelle McCune and moved to Blue Creek Nebraska..they had a bunch of kids..one named Barney Albert)Annie(married Albert Hill , brother of David Hill..they had 5 daughters and she died right after the birth of the last one)Thomas Edward'Eddie'married Mary ook lived and died in Trenton Iowa,Martha, Emma, ....then they moved to Washington Iowa and had Oceola..
