Valentine and Mary Catherine Scheer came to Ohio about 1830 from Germany?. They had at least four children: Valentine Jr., John (my ancestor), Catherine (Laufer) and Caroline (Huffman). John married Elizabeth Zoeller (Zellars) and they had eight children: Jacob, Caroline, Mary, John, Frederick, Elizabeth, Henry and David. This generation added an "s" to the end of the name. Frederick moved to Illinois after the civil war (41st OVI) and married 1) Mary Agnes Kane 2) Anna Leach: His children by his first wife were Charles (moved to MN), John (moved to Alberta, Canada) and Nellie (Shade). Son by his second wife was Fay V. Scheers. I would love to share information with anyone related to this family. Debby
