I am looking for information on my Great-Grandfather Hillery/Hill Williams. My Grandfather Martin T. Williams was in Greenwood South Carolina until he was about 20-25 years old where he moved to Philadelphia, PA. I am guessing that my Great-Grandfather was born around 1840. Any help that can be given would be greatly appreciated. M. M. Williams
M.M., Greenwood was part of Old 96 District in 1790 and I found Some Williams there. Some of these Williams lived in Campbellton. Leed, Roger, William, John, Duke, Thomas, and Paul. There was a John (Mollatto) also. I hope this may even help you get even farther back. One of these men could be Martin T.'s father.
