Glenn and Inez McC. Lawson, Revised in 1982 by R. Clayton Smith? A copy is in the Greenwood Public Library. The book, "Greenwood County Sketches: Old Roads and Early Families", By Margaret Watson, 1982 devotes about eight pages to this William Smith Family. My indirect connection to this family results from: Katherine FRANKLIN (daughter of William B. FRANKLIN of Stony Point) married my 4th great-grandfather, Eli BOWIE in 1804 and in 1817 William Smith's son, John Skinner Smith, married Katherine's sister Anna Jane FRANKLIN. My farm is about 2 miles from Stony Point at the intersection of the Old Cokesbury Road and the Road to Smith's Bridge. The bridge was built across the Saluda River by John Skinner Smith. It no longer exists. "The Smiths of Stony Point" mentions that William left a brother, Daniel Smith, in VA. Have you any information relating to this Daniel Smith?
