WEST COLUMBIA, SC---Graveside services for Caroline Gaffney Gayle, 83, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Elmwood Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross. Visitation will be 6-7:30 this evening at Dunbar Funeral Home, Gervais Street Chapel. Mrs. Gayle, wife of the late Robert Harold "Barney" Gayle, died Friday, June 2, 2000. Born in GREENWOOD, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Logan & Lucille Hoefer Gaffney. She was a former volunteer with the Providence Hospital & the American Red Cross. She was a recipient of "Mother of the Year" award from Sigma Nu fraternity at USC. Mrs. Gayle was a member of Trenholm Road United Methodist Church. Surviving are sons & daughters-in-law, Bob & Patricia Gayle of NEW ORLEANS, LA, Heyward & Aimee Gayle of COLUMBIA; sister, Billie Bauknight of COLUMBIA; grandchildren, Rob Gayle, Marion Gayle, Todd Gayle; 2 step-grandchildren.
