    2. GREENWOOD, SC---Services for Wilbur Haragal Attaway, 79, of 109 Gantt Road, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ryan Eklund & the Rev. Dave Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Oakbrook Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Deason, Johnny Bowers, Allen Smith, Walter Garrett, Alton Gantt, & Jerry Gantt. Honorary escort will be Deacons of South Main Street Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral Home. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorials may be made to Rosewood Baptist Church of COLUMBIA, SC, Lexington Baptist Church of LEXINGTON, SC, or South Main Street Baptist Church, 1000 South Main Street, Greenwood, SC 29646. Mr. Attaway, husband of Beulah Mabry Attaway, died July 5, 2001 at National Health Care of Greenwood. Born in AIKEN COUNTY, March 10, 1922, he was the son of the late Millard B. & Edith Gregory Attaway. He retired from Whaley Electrical Service of COLUMBIA. He & his wife formerly owned & operated the Friendly Cafeteria of COLUMBIA. He was a member of South Main Street Baptist Church & the Adult # 10 Sunday School Dept. He was also an active member of the Brotherhood of the Church. He was founder of the Wednesday Afternoon Prayer Meeting at South Main & was also founder of the church sponsored Home Care Program, which was designated to meet the home needs of the community. A former resident of COLUMBIA & LAKE MURRAY, SC, he had made his home in GREENWOOD since 1993. While in Columbia, Mr. Attaway was a very active member of Rosewood Baptist Church, & after relocating to Lake Murray, he became equally as active in Lexington Baptist Church. He served in many church capacities & was an active promoter of the outreach programs in both churches. Surviving are his wife of the home; brother, Andy G. Attaway of SEATTLE, WA; a number of nieces & nephews; great-nieces & great-nephews. [The State, Columbia, SC, Saturday, July 7, 2001].
