Stony Point , Greenwood Co, SC is on Hwy 246 and the Old Laurens Rd north of the Greenwood Airport. The "Smiths of Stony Point" settled in the area in 1795 in a log cabin, then finished a brick house about 1820ish that's still in great shape on Hwy 246. They called the house Stony Point. They had the second post office in the area. Washington, DC spelled it Stoney Point but the family always spelled it Stony Point. So its on Hwy 246 west of Old Laurens RD. I was told it was near Highway 246 but the person was vague as to where on Highway 246.
