Here are a couple of probate records that were on the microfilm that I was researching Tuesday at the State Archives. Citation published Feb. 21, 1802 at Red Bank Sale ordered 26 Feb. 1802 Accounts Nov. 29, 1802: mentioned purchasers John Pope, Henry Pope, William [__], Lucy [Davy], Ezekiah Nash (who bought most of the property] Account in 1817: Mentions court of Equity decree that charges in account currents $160 paid Sampson Pope, $50 paid John Pope, $102 paid Drury Mathews, and $54 paid Susannah Pope. $10 paid Charles [__] for services in a/c Ezekiel Nash vs. John Pope and others. $75 to Rebecca Nobles do attorney on record in the same case $10 poid ? To wit: I give to my son Solomon Poper one negro wench named [B_] lost in margin I give to my son Jacob Pope five dollars I given to my grandson Sampson Pope, two negro fellows one named Luke and the other named Jo; and also my plantation and stock with all household furniture. And I do appoint my grandson Sampson Pope and my son Jacob Pope my sole executors of this my LWT in withness whereof I have set my hand and seal this 22 day of July, 1788. Box 43-1807 Sally Pope applied for letters of administration in Edgefield Co., 12 July, 1810 Citation published at Pen Creek July 18, 1810 -------------- Ran out of time and did not complete the whole microfilm. This one is the next Pope will. Note it is earlier. The film was on backward so I was working from later to earlier as I rewound thru the film. Will of Solomon Pope decd.
