Hello Suzanne, Welcome and best wishes as this list's new Administrator. I'll be unsubscribing under my current e-mail address and immediately re-subscribing under my new e-mail address (<norisun65@yahoo.com>) this weekend. Meantime, I wanted to list the Greenwood area ancestors I'm researching: Seanie (WHITE?)-WALLER (19th century dob & d. 1873); place of burial unknown (my gg grandmother) Nanny & Ellis/Elliott BACKUS (dob, dod & place of burial unknown, possibly Save All cemetery); living in Greenwood area as slaves by 1859. Believed to have been on the John Randolph plantation named Roanoke in Charlotte County, VA until their manumission c. 1846 and re-enslavement shortly thereafter in VA on their way to lands purchased by Randolph for his 350+ manumitted slaves (my gg grandparents) Thomas WALLER of Rte. #2 in Ninety Six/Epworth/Fellowship Township (b. 5/3/1853, d. 5/10/1925); buried old Mount Zion Baptist Church cemetery, Epworth/Fellowship (my g grandfather) Sina BACKUS-WALLER (b. 1859, d. 9/22/1924); buried old Mount Zion Baptist Church cemetery, Epworth/Fellowship (my g grandmother) Sally WALLER-BACKUS (dob unknown (c. 1850), d. 1911); buried Save All cemetery, Greenwood (sister of my g grandfather) James BACKUS (b. abt. 1846 in VA, d. 1905 in Greenwood, SC); buried Save All cemetery, Greenwood (brother of my g grandmother) In addition to information on my ancestors and their slave holders, I am particularly interested in locating the church records of old Mt. Zion Baptist Church as I am certain they would provide clues to my WALLER-BACKUS ancestors. Judith
