Does anyone know if there has been a book published by Arcadia Publishing, 2 Cumberland Street, Charleston, SC 29401 called "Images of America"? There have been several done in some of the southern states like Alabama, Louisiana. These books are great for a pictorial history. They are small but very powerful books. It would be one way to get the photos of the old sites in our hands. sheryl -----Original Message----- From: John Turner [mailto:jwt@geusnet.com] Sent: Friday, July 19, 2002 10:58 AM To: SCGREENW-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [SCGREENW] Greenwood County Farm Deborah, I have long searched for a picture. None were taken by my family that I can find and can't find anyone from the government side of Greenwood that knew much (I really wish I did because I have quite a few fond memories about the place and can still see it in my mind's eye exactly as it was many years ago) about it. I don't know about the names, but I do remember there were several homes (very small shacks actually) that remained when we lived there. I tend to think that the people who ran the place lived in them but am not sure. It may have been the people who raised the crops and reported into the "big house" where we lived. Should you ever happen to come across any further data about it or a picture, I would definitely be more than interested in a copy. On the same token, I will let you know also if I do happen to come across any further info. Thanks for your reply, John -
