They are given as the parents of my g-grandfather John Wesley Smith b. January 06, 1868 in SC. His death certificate had his mother's name as Narcissa [Breadwell?] but no father's name. His RR retirement file contained a father John Smith. there is a place of birth for him as Lexington, but with a question mark. I have found one John Smith with a wife Narcissa and a James Smith with a wife Narcissa in the Greenville Co., SC census records: Several of my mother's family from Greenwood moved to Greenville, so maybe there is a connections. Here are my notes and research comments on my effort to find this family. Maybe you will recognize some names: IN 1880, John Wesley Smith, my g-grandfather would have been twelve according to his tombstone. SPECULATION: I have no verification that this is the family of my John Wesley Smith.
