Can anyone tell me if there is still a Galloway Memorial Church in Greenwood,SC?I have an orbituary of Mrs.Geneva Brown,43,widow of A.M.Brown.She died in a Columbia hospital on April 29,but I do not have a year.She is buried in Oakwood Cemetery,Spartanburg,SC. She had 2 daughters,Geneva Brown and Barbara Brown,who lived at home with their mother. Dear Long Cane listers, I am planning a research trip to South Carolina - Greenwood, Abbeville, McCormick and Edgefield Counties. I would appreciate any and all insider tips! I plan to go to the County Clerk, Probate Court and Library in each County Seat. Where else should I go? Are there libraries in other towns that are particularly good for genealogical research? Are there historical societies with libraries in them? Are there cemeteries or churches I should visit? Are there historical sites that would round out my trip? I will be looking for Ware, Martin and Owen lines plus allied families like Cartledge, Garrett, etc. I am a member of an ARP church in FL and interested in ARP history. Any places to visit in the above four counties or should I think about running up to Greenville? Thanks for any tip whatsoever!
